The story behind
HD Builders
HD Builders was created by Thomas Hucks and Jason Deal. They are two like minded guys with a passion for home building and bringing a vision into reality. Both Thomas and Jason grew up in the Carolinas.
Thomas worked in construction as a framer in his early years, and Jason worked with his family doing grading, septic systems, and footings. Jason’s family has been in business for more than 30 years. They both did these jobs until September 11 2001 changed everything. Not knowing each other at the time they both joined the Marine Corps infantry and between the two of them fought in multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
After returning home Thomas and Jason met and became friends. Years later Jason was looking to build a forever home for his family, and decided to build his own house from start to finish and the passion for building was born and HD Builders was created!
The Deal Family
Jason and his wife Julia met while he was on pre-deployment leave before going to Iraq. Jason went with family to watch his niece in a Christmas play. Julia was helping with the play. He was blow away by her beauty when he saw her. After the play, he was looking for her and she was no where to be found. Later he found out that she had ran to get a piece of cake in the fellowship hall. Luckily her mom told her that Jason appeared to be looking for her. Just as he was leaving, she came back into the church. We spent everyday together after that and two weeks later he asked her to marry him. Fourteen years later they are still crazy in love. They were married after he got back from Iraq, and she moved to Hawaii where I was stationed. They had a blast living there for three years and after he deployed again to Afghanistan and his enlistment was complete they moved back to the great state of South Carolina. Shortly after moving back they had a son named Cooper and then a daughter named Marlowe. In 2019 we built our dream home and started a small farm. Now they have 40+ chickens that all have names, 5 goats, 2 Great Pyrenees dogs, and a cat. They feel very blessed and are so thankful to be where they are today. They look forward to everyday of this amazing life! Let them build your dream home and become part of the family as well!
The Hucks Family
As far back as Thomas can remember as a young kid he has always been fascinated with the Military and construction. He truly loves the construction process. From the starting point of just having an idea to the finish product of a build or project. He started out framing houses in high school and learned all he could about the whole process of building a home from start to finish. While growing up he always looked up to his grandfathers Military Service and decided to pause his life in construction and follow in his foot steps. In 2005, he enlisted in the Marine Corps as an infantryman. After his second deployment while stationed in California he met my better half Maria. They have been together for 14 years and are looking forward fro many more. They have been blessed with three beautiful girls that keep them on their toes at all times. One of Thomas’s passions is the outdoors and hunting. On his off time he’s always trying to figure out where I went wrong during last years hunting season and enjoying time with his family. He says it seems like homeowners become family during the building process and hopes anyone that reads this will consider HD Builders for their next dream home.
